Pino Café & Botica: A New Destination in Guanajuato

9 May, 2024

The opening of Pino Café & Botica on Calle San José 4, in the capital of Guanajuato, marks a new chapter in the city’s rich cultural tapestry. This café, which brings with it the intense and deep flavors of the highlands of Chiapas, offers visitors a unique experience that combines a taste for quality coffee with the charm of a traditional apothecary.

It was inaugurated yesterday, April 8th, and like almost everything in Guanajuato capital, I stumbled upon it while walking. Upon entering Pino Café & Botica, one is transported to a space where history meets modernity. It’s a cozy and tranquil place; the walls that embrace this small space seem to whisper stories of the past, complemented by the modern interior design of Casa Cuatro, inviting customers to sit and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. The coffee, cultivated in the rich highlands of Chiapas, is known for its balanced body and acidity, ensuring that each cup is a sensory experience in itself.

It’s not just the coffee that makes Pino Café & Botica special; Anita Awbi, whom I greeted a few hours before she inaugurated her café, is a wonderful hostess. Her appreciation for coffee and Mexico’s rich culture has allowed her to create an obligatory stop for those seeking the highest quality coffee. Here, visitors and locals can gather to share stories or enjoy a moment of tranquility on their journey.

Pino Café & Botica is established not only as a coffee shop but as an emblem of the hospitality and cultural richness of Guanajuato. It is a testament to the city’s passion for setting standards in service and taste, while embracing new influences and flavors. With its opening, Pino Café & Botica becomes a must-visit destination for anyone looking to enjoy a rich cup of coffee in Guanajuato.
