Baja California, April 30, 2025 — With the Pacific breeze in the air and the sun setting over the horizon, Guanajuato made a powerful impression at the 2025 Tianguis Turístico. But it wasn’t brochures or slogans that stole the spotlight—it was flavor. Representing the state’s rich culinary identity, Guanajuato officially launched the upcoming “Guanajuato ¡Sí Sabe!” 2025 Gastronomic Season, a program that invites visitors to experience the region through its most essential expression: its food.
This year, from May 31 to July 27, Guanajuato becomes a culinary destination like no other. Over the course of nine weeks, 25 events will unfold across 46 municipalities, offering a deep dive into the diversity, creativity, and cultural richness of its cuisine. From traditional dishes passed down through generations to bold experiments from rising chefs, this is a season for discovery, celebration, and connection.
Each town becomes a kitchen, each table a stage. Whether in local markets, cozy patios, bustling plazas, or award-winning restaurants, the entire state comes together to cook, share, and honor its culinary heritage. From the ceremonial tortilla to the wild garambullo berry, from artisan ice cream to ancestral mezcal, Guanajuato’s flavors are alive—and meant to be explored.
Local ingredients and regional spirits—tequila, mezcal, wine, and craft beer—will play a starring role. Expect storytelling through food, with dishes that reflect the landscape, history, and soul of this vibrant state.
The season kicks off in León with the Traditional Cuisine Gathering, a symbolic beginning to a journey that stretches from Acámbaro to San Miguel de Allende, from the sierras to the vineyards. Every stop adds its own chapter to this living cookbook.
But this celebration is not just for visitors. It’s also for locals who wish to reconnect with their roots, rediscover their traditions, and explore the evolving identity of Guanajuato’s gastronomy. It’s an opportunity to reflect on where we’ve come from—and to imagine where we’re going.
Guanajuato ¡Sí Sabe! 2025 is more than a culinary calendar. It’s a call to savor, to participate, and to take pride in what we grow, cook, and share.
